Think you got what it takes? Think again!
“The thing about bodybuilding is - only you are accountable to you. You can have a great prep coach, awesome training partners, an amazingly supportive girl in your life… all of the tools to help you need to get where you need to (supps, etc.) - but when you get on stage - it is just YOU up there.
No coach to hold your hand. No training partner to spot you. No one blowing smoke up your ass telling you that you are on point… it’s just you, the stage and the 7-10 judges looking up, being extremely critical of you and not giving a FUCK about who or what you are.
If hard work pays off - easy work is worthless… all of your hard work - or lack thereof - is more than evident on show day. You can’t fool anyone. Everyone knows who the dudes or ladies are who didn’t do the cardio or diet effectively or properly. EVERYONE can spot the hard work…
Everyone should keep that in mind as they prep for a show… there is no hiding come the day of ground zero… you fight, you claw, you sweat and put yourself through emotional turmoil to come in the best you can… doing things to your body you wouldn’t think of doing under normal circumstances… drawing deeper than you ever thought possible - mentally, physically and emotionally… when you look into the mirror, and see that every thing is drained… that you have no more to give… that your fight as been completely sucked out of you and you are ready to give up…
… at that time, when you push on… then you know you are ready.”
