Top Amateur Bodybuilder to Follow: Dusty Hanshaw
Dusty Hanshaw is a top tier amateur bodybuilder, trying to make his way through the ranks of the National Physique Committee (NPC), in hopes of capturing his International Federation of Body Builders (IFBB) professional card one day. He’s due to step on stage in 2 weeks time at the 2010 NPC USA championships in Las Vegas, NV, where he will compete as a super heavyweight (weight over 225 lbs).
Just a few short weeks ago, he stepped on stage at the 2010 NPC Junior Nationals in Chicago, IL, at a weight of nearly 260 lbs. He easily won the super heavyweight class, with impressive conditioning, fullness, and an overwhelming amount of muscle. Here’s a shot of him back stage before the pre-judging portion of the show:
It’s easy to see why Dusty has made a name for himself in a relatively short period of time. Besides the obvious (that being the physique he presents), he’s a humble, grounded, down-to-earth guy who is dedicated to the goal at hand, yet maintains balance in his life. He’s not only a competitor, but he’s also a fan of bodybuilding. He always makes time to contribute to the various bodybuilding message boards he belongs to, not to mention, answers numerous questions and helps other members in their pursuit of achieving the physique of their mind’s eye. He’s a likable guy who you can’t help but want to see succeed.
